George McClintock

George L. McClintock, Jr., age 85, of Mt. Lebanon, formerly of Bethel Park, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane McClintock; brother, Robert (Marjorie) McClintock; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Obbie McClintock; and his parents, George McClintock and Ethel (Lightbody) McClintock.
George obtained a master's degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh, which led him to a teaching career. George taught French for 31 years, 27 of which were at Upper St. Clair High School. After retiring from education, George worked as an ER Technician at St. Clair Hosptial from 1992-2020. Mentoring and teaching was a part of who George was. While working at St. Clair Hospital, he ran a mentoring program for students in medicine.
George and his wife, Obbie, shared a love of travel, music and theater. At USC, they directed the spring musicals together. From 1964 until his death, George was the Director of Music at Hamilton Presbyterian Church, while Obbie was the Assistant Music Director. As a representative for the student travel company ACIS, George chaperoned countless students and adults to Europe with Obbie.
George was generous, kind, sincere, genuine and the most ethical person you would ever meet. He will always be remembered as everyone's rock.
A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Hamilton Presbyterian Church, in Bethel Park, for George and Obbie, who passed away a week before George. Donations may be made to the Hamilton Presbyterian Church music fund (https://www.hamiltonpresbyterian.org/giving/).
