From the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:
James M. Kirsch, age 76, of Jefferson Hills, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022.
The son of the late Clarence and Virginia Kirsch. Jamie is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Kathleen (Bowers) Kirsch; daughter Julie Collins and her husband Bob; son Michael and his wife Lindsay; sister and brother-in-law Sherry and Denny Chernay; brother Rick Kirsch and wife Carol; and his nieces and their families. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, whom he adored and found every opportunity to shower with his love and unique zeal for life: Sarah, Emma, Grace, Jack, Cameron and Colin.
Jamie's last moments were spent doing what he loved, sinking a par putt on the 17th green. He was a teacher and football coach at Upper St. Clair for thirty years. He was arguably even busier following his retirement in 1999, enjoying his golden years to the fullest - he would play golf on any course, travel to any destination, and relax with his loving family.
He was a member of First Christian Church of Fayette City, where he lent his rich voice to the church choir. He was also a member of Nemacolin Country Club, enjoying golfing with his good friends. He had a zest for life and unbridled love for his many friends and family.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 10 A.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Wayne Boring officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
