Joyce Audrey Enscoe, age 89, of Bethel Park, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 16, 2022.
Joyce is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Kenneth W. Enscoe; her children, Kenneth J. (Holly) Enscoe, Richard R. (Leslie) Enscoe, and Cynthia M. (Patrick) Higgins; grandchildren, Ryan Higgins, Megan (Greg) Hall, Brendan (Allison) Higgins, Rachel (Will) McMillan, Kaylee Enscoe, Drew Enscoe, and Mark Enscoe; great-grandchildren Ava Higgins, Noah Higgins, Carter Higgins and Benjamin Hall; and brother-in-law, Keith (Lisa Klein) Enscoe, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth C. Stevenson and Marie E. White. Also preceded in death by her daughter, JoAnne Renee Enscoe, as well as sisters, Elizabeth Meer and Geraldine Sprandle.
Joyce graduated from Slippery Rock State Teachers College and taught in various schools in the area. Most of her career was spent teaching health and physical education at Upper St. Clair High School. Joyce also loved coaching tennis, volleyball, gymnastics and teaching many friends and family to water ski at the Yough Lake. Family was the focal point of Joyce's life and any opportunity to get together with family was always welcomed. Joyce was an excellent seamstress, quilter and crafter and spent most of her spare time with something to keep her hands busy. Joyce and Ken loved traveling and experienced many beautiful places together.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Friday, January 21, 2022, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022, 1:00 pm at Resurrection Parish St. Thomas More Church, 126 Fort Couch Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15241. A private burial will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date. Condolences may be shared at jeffersonmemorial.com
