Franklin M. Carr, 88, of Bethel Park, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015.
He was the beloved husband for 62 years of Mary Lou (Crail); loving father of Jeffrey L. and Thomas D. (Leah); brother of the late Virginia Kundrat; Pap of Lynnette Tavoletti (Caesar) and Krista Carr, and great-grandpap of Alex Tavoletti.
Frank was a Navy veteran and served on the USS George E. Davis, DE357. He was a member of the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association, past president of Slippery Rock University Alumni Board and the PA and National Association of College Admission Counselors in which he was the first recipient of the PACAC Recognition Award for service to students. Frank was a member of First Bethel United Bethel Methodist Church for 53 years.
Visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the DAVID J. HENNEY FUNERAL HOME, 6364 Library Road (RT 88), Library. Funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in First Bethel United Methodist Church, 5901 Library Road, Bethel Park. Interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church or Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 50 Moffett St., Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
