January 7, 2024
Mark D. Mustin, DC. age 63, of Fairview, died on Sunday, January 7, 2024.
He was born on October 26, 1960, the beloved son of the late Harvey and Marilyn Fogel Mustin.
Mark was a 1979 graduate of Upper St. Clair High School, attended Penn State University, graduating from Logan College of Chiropractic, St. Louis Missouri in 1984.
Mark's passion and life's work was that of a healer. During Chiropractic school, he would fly with a classmate in a two seater plane to Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin to study with the Cox brothers at the renowned Gonstead Clinic. He developed finesse in the Gonstead technique and opened his practice in July of 1986. Mark studied extensively all throughout his years in practice. His children inherited his thirst for knowledge. Mark provided holistic and Chiropractic healthcare to the greater Erie community until early Spring of 2023. He was a master diagnostician with limitless knowledge surrounding nutrition, alternative medicine, and the human body.
Mark enjoyed weightlifting and body building all throughout his life. He competed in a natural body building competition during his final year of Chiropractic school, delighting in placing third overall. He loved fishing and cherished his fly fishing experiences in Montana, on the streams of Pennsylvania, and Striper fishing off the coast of Martha's Vineyard with his daughter Mackenzie and son Cameron. Mark loved travel, great food, and studying Native American culture and spirituality. His love and knowledge of music enhanced the life of everyone in his circle. He fell in love with blues while attending Chiropractic school in St. Louis. Some of his favorite artists include: Jimi Hendrix, Led Zepplin, The Doors, Pink Floyd, B.B. King, Bobby Bland, Van Morrison, The Allman Brothers, Howlin' Wolf, and Chris Stapleton.
Mark was incredibly funny, quick witted, and had an unforgettable laugh. He is survived by, and the proud father of Mackenzie Mustin and Cameron Mustin, both of Erie, his younger brother Dr. Steven Mustin of Pittsburgh, his former wife Lexie Mustin, his found family Mark and Lane Nelson, and his pal Jett.
